Harvest & Target Bucks

Non-residents can harvest one buck total, either archery or rifle. Residents can harvest two bucks total — one archery and one rifle. Doe hunts are available in addition, upon request. Target bucks run 140" and up.

“Opening day of the 2025 Missouri rifle season had me excited from the start — Bill Perry mentioned they had trail-camera photos of a drop-tine buck on the farm, and that was something I'd never harvested before. The day was action-packed, with far more deer movement than expected despite the warm weather. That evening, less than 15 minutes after settling back into the blind, a small rutting buck came charging through, and I'd already bumped three does earlier — the deer were clearly moving. Then a coyote gave a yip-howl from the creek bottom below my stand. I grabbed my rabbit distress call and gave a quick squall, and within minutes he was standing 30 yards out, staring right at me. As I watched him, I caught movement in the thick brush behind him — deer legs, then a head, and I knew immediately it was a big buck. Careful not to spook either animal, I slowly raised my binoculars. And there he was: the drop-tine buck. I only had a few seconds to react. The brush left very little room for a clean shot, but I found a small opening through the branches, settled in, and placed the shot perfectly behind his shoulder. I'd harvested the trophy of a lifetime — a Missouri whitetail gross-scoring 175 inches with a beautiful drop tine. I could not wait to call Bill, and I think he may have been just as excited as I was. I cannot thank Bill Perry and Hidden Creek Outfitters enough for helping me harvest the greatest deer I have ever taken.”
